Engine air intake protection for construction equipment, generators and industrial engines.
Fitment guide
How to choose air filters
A primary element captures intake dust. Some housings also use an inner safety element. Identify which element you are replacing and record the housing or engine number.
Details to include in your request
Old filter number and equipment make, model and serial number
Heavy equipment air cleaners commonly have a primary element, and some also have an inner safety element. The primary element does the main job of collecting airborne dust before it reaches the engine. If a second element is fitted, its reference and replacement instructions should be checked separately in the machine manual. When requesting a quote, say which element you need or list both as separate lines.
A machine working around aggregate, soil or demolition dust may have a different intake assembly from a similar-looking machine fitted with a different engine or intake package. The machine make and model help narrow the search. A readable number on the old element, the air-cleaner housing reference and the relevant serial range give the supplier more to check.
What to photograph on a used element
Take one photo of the whole element and another of the printed or embossed number. Add an end view showing the sealing face and whether the element has an open or closed end. If the part number is rubbed off, a housing label and rough measurements can help identify candidates. Keep measurements separate from confirmed manufacturer specifications.
Note whether the machine uses a radial seal, an axial seal or another sealing arrangement shown in its parts documentation. Two elements with similar length may fit differently around the sealing surface. Matching only the outside diameter can miss differences in seal profile, end-cap geometry or mounting depth.
Preparing a fleet air-filter order
List each asset separately before combining quantities. An excavator, loader and generator may all appear on one purchase request, but their intake assemblies can be different. For each line, record the machine or engine serial, the part number, the quantity and the date it is needed. Use separate rows for the primary and safety elements if both are requested.
When a filter is quoted as an alternative, ask for the original reference it was matched against. Keep that reference and the confirmed replacement number in the service record. If the equipment has been modified or its engine has been replaced, add that detail to the enquiry and verify against the currently fitted assembly.

Example workshop enquiry
An excavator has a readable outer element but the inner label is worn. Send the outer reference and housing label, then ask the supplier to identify the inner element separately. If the initial quote lists only one air filter, confirm which position it covers before issuing the order.
Can I use one reference for both the primary and safety positions?
List them separately and verify both against the housing or machine documentation. One known reference can help identify the assembly, but the replacement for the other position still needs confirmation.

Does the housing use a separate safety element?
Check the housing diagram or the part numbers printed on the inner and outer elements.
