Replacement engine oil filtration for equipment maintenance and planned servicing.
Fitment guide
How to choose oil filters
Start with the engine model and original filter number. For spin-on filters, thread and gasket dimensions are useful cross-checks, along with the specified bypass arrangement.
Details to include in your request
Old filter number and equipment make, model and serial number
A spin-on filter includes a body that attaches to the filter head. A cartridge is replaced inside a reusable housing, with the relevant seals fitted as specified by the manufacturer. Identify the filter style before requesting a replacement and note whether your service requires a seal kit as a separate item.
Oil filter selection starts with the engine and the original part number. Equipment model names can cover different engine options. An engine serial number and a photo of the filter head help when the old label is incomplete or the maintenance record refers to another version of the machine.
Compare the interfaces and specifications
For a spin-on unit, useful checks can include the thread, the gasket contact dimensions and the clearance available around the fitted filter. For a cartridge, check the element length, end-cap arrangement and seal position. Confirm performance details and any bypass arrangement with the equipment specification. A matching thread alone does not establish suitability.
If the machine uses more than one lubrication filter, list each mounting position and the reference installed there. Parts described as full-flow and bypass filters can have different duties. A replacement reference should be checked against the intended position before the stock quantities are combined.
Plan oil filters by service interval
For a workshop purchase, build one line per engine and filter reference. Include units due for the current service and record any extra stock needed for planned work separately. This makes it easier to split an urgent request from the rest of a bulk quote.
A purchase order should show the requested reference and any approved alternative as separate fields. When the filters arrive, compare the label with the accepted reference and keep the packaging data in your maintenance record. For an uncertain reference, send the old filter photos before ordering a large quantity.

Example workshop enquiry
A workshop has two machines with the same model name and different engine plates. The filter threads look similar, but the technician records the exact engine serial and old reference from each machine. The purchaser requests two lines until the application and specifications have been verified.
What if the old spin-on filter looks different from the quoted replacement?
Compare the confirmed references and the application specification. External appearance can vary, so check fitment, clearance and the required technical characteristics with the supplier.

Can two spin-on filters with the same thread be interchanged?
Match the original specification, including gasket, flow and bypass requirements, before substituting.
